Poker Card Varieties

Poker, a card game originally originated in the middle east, has since then spread all across the world. One of its most basic rules is the betting of ‘picks’ or ‘bets’. Poker is now a popular family of online card games where players wager on which hand is the best based on the rules of the game. The popularity of poker has led to the creation of many different variations, each with its own unique rules and style of play.

The most popular of all the variations of poker is Texas Holdem, which is probably the most commonly known among other variations. However there are hundreds of other varieties. In fact just learning about poker may throw enough light on how big the world of poker really is!

The most basic poker variant is known as Caribbean Poker. In this game, one player alternates playing the flop and the hand, passing the turn between them. This allows for a much longer game, with more hands being played at one table than at any other. The highest skilled players in the game can make a very impressive profit.

Another version of poker is holdem poker, which means holding the poker hand with the intention of calling a bet from the opponents before winning the pot. This is considered one of the easiest versions of poker to learn. Holding the poker is simple enough in this game and as long as one is aware of what one is holding, it becomes easy to call, raise and fold without getting called. Holding a good hand is also quite common.

The most complex and difficult variations of poker are no limit hold em poker and multi-table poker. No limit hold em is played in just a single table, where players compete against each other with a limited number of poker chips. This variation is absolutely not for beginners. With multi-table poker, a player can play several different games simultaneously, and can switch among them at will.

The most difficult poker card variations are full tilt poker and royal straight poker. Full tilt poker is played in an actual casino, where the stakes are real money. Royal straight poker is played at a virtual casino, with stakes that do not exceed the amount of the virtual stakes. As with every type of poker, practice is the key to success, but novices should try their hand at no limit and multi-table poker before moving up to the more difficult versions.
